Running from September 20-27, the programme is being organised by United Kingdom-based Charlene Kunira.
The fashion show will run under the theme: “Utilising Natural Resources while Creating Social and Economic Transformations within Southern Africa.”
Speaking to NewsDay, Kunira, who is currently in the country with six other delegates visiting the region in preparation for the event, said the fashion show is aimed at promoting, motivating and stimulating the diversity and talent empowerment of designer and others within the African communities.
“Sadc Fashion Week Show, which is the first of its kind in the region, is a collaboration and fusion of art opportunities between emerging artists and designers together with international buyers and investors aimed at developing and promoting arts and culture in the region,” Kunira said.
“We have that belief and confidence that this initiative will help to bring awareness on how the arts are not just for leisure, but also businesses where individuals can sustain lives.
