Jodhi Meares switches her glamorous gowns for a sleek suit as she heads to court to face high-range drink-driving charges

Fashion may be her stock in trade, but Jodhi Meares' court date on Wednesday saw her sporting a far more professional look than the exercise wear brand she's famed for spruiking,

The former model- who founded bikini brand Tigerlily and now heads up workout wear label The Upside- chose a conservative black pantsuit and high heels for her appearance at Waverley Court.

The 43 year-old Australian designer was in court to face high-range drink driving charges relating to a crash in the Eastern suburbs in June.

Famed for the beach-ready look that saw her successfully front Tigerlily swimwear before venturing into leisurewear with her new workout label, Jodhi's style on Wednesday reflected the serious circumstances.

Jodhi wore her light brown hair tied back in a low ponytail and carried a square Yves Saint Luarent clutch along with her dark sunglasses.

A pair of pavé diamond earrings were her only nod to glamour.

Deeply tanned, she held her head up as she walked from the courtroom into a black waiting car.

This is Jodhi's first appearance in court after she was a no-show when the matter was first heard on August 5.

Her lawyer, prominent Sydney solicitor Chris Murphy, applied for an adjournment to allow an expert to look at the vehicle.

'We have engaged an accident investigation service to take a full analysis of the vehicle and the scene,' he said.

'The car's only a Range Rover, four to five years old. The wreck is being examined.'

He told registrar Paul West a crash investigator was examining her wrecked Range Rover, which ended up on its side after ploughing into three cars in the crash earlier in the year.

Police allege she recorded a blood alcohol level of .181, almost four times over the legal limit, after the incident.

At Wednesday's appearance there was no sign of Jodhi's rock singer fiancé Jon Stevens.

An earlier charge of driving while her licence was suspended had been dropped.
